Things to Do
Chillicothe was the first state capital of Ohio and there is a lot of history to be found in the area. Visit the Ross County/Chillicothe Visitor's Bureau website to discover all the things to see and do in the area while you are waiting for the fest gates to open Friday or Saturday.

The Hopewell Culture National Historic Park is also nearby and provides a fascinating glimpse into the earthworks and settlements of the ancient Hopewell Indians from about 200 BC to 400 AD. We definitely recommend it if you are into this kind of thing and looking for something to do.

If you like the great outdoors, there are a number of golf courses, a farmer's market, a fruit farm, canoeing on Paint Creek, fishing in the Scioto River, or exploring any of the Chillicothe parks by rented bike or on foot.

If you are more interested in indoor activities, you can catch a flick at the Danbarry Cinemas theater or do some shopping along Bridge Street or in the downtown Historic District. There is also a bowling alley and a roller rink in town.
